Brands Hatch Double for Kiyonari

04 August 2008

A sensational double victory for Ryuichi Kiyonari at Brands Hatch crowned a great weekend for the Hannspree Ten Kate Honda team.

The 25 year-old, reigning British Superbike champion, in his first season with the team, got the better of Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) in the first race, before doing the double with a win over Noriyuki Haga (Yamaha Motor Italia WSB) in the second. The Ten Kate team also took wins across the board in the Supersport and Superstock classes, making it a grand slam meeting for the team.

"I was under much pressure from Noriyuki Haga," said Kiyonari. "I made some mistakes at the last corner but I still took the victory. My bike has been very good this weekend and I was pleased to win at Brands Hatch." The Brands Hatch double is the second for Ten Kate in as many years, following the clean sweep for James Toseland in last year's event. This season has also produced another double win for the team, with Carlos Checa maxing out at Salt Lake City.

The Hannspree Ten Kate Superbike and Supersport Hondas run Pectel Engine Controllers to deliver the outstanding handling performance that makes the bikes so successful. For more details contact Roland Meister on +44 (0)1954 253600
